I loved drinking soda pop as a kid, but stopped consuming it years ago.

The health-damaging high carbs — whether from refined white sugar, high fructose corn syrup, or other junk sweeteners — along with the artificial flavors, toxic coloring, preservatives, etc. are something I choose to avoid.

That said, I’m so happy I invested 12 minutes and 59 seconds watching John Nese of Galco’s Soda Pop Stop talk about his business model and products. Through simple conversation, he brings to light many advanced marketing concepts, like segmentation, merchandising, pricing, competition, customer-centrism, distribution, vendor relations, branding…and much more.

I enjoy listening to someone who loves what they’re doing. My favorite part of the video is how he deals with Pepsi when they try to push him into carrying their products.

He is certainly becoming an Icon in his community! I bet people come in just to connect with him, and engage in a little nostalgia,, too.

What a delightful person. I loved what he said about his work. He said he doesn’t work, he plays all day. Now, that’s the kind of work I wanta do. Play all day, bringing unique quality to folks and educating them about how delightful the quality choice can be. I love that he is choosing glass bottles, companies that still craft with integrity and care, refusing to cave in to cola conglomerates, etc.

Love this fella. Great example of how business can be elevated to an artform and a mission of service.

Wow,  How cool is his soda pop store!  I think it would be great to have a shop like this in my small hometown.
